Oniscus asellus is a species widely distributed across temperate regions.
When threatened, it typically remains motionless, relying on its smooth, elongated body to make it difficult for predators to grasp. This behavior makes it a classic example of a “clinger” isopod.
It has a notably calm temperament and tends to be relatively inactive, spending most of its time sheltered rather than roaming.
